M/V Never Dunn is a PLAN C 1988 model 45-foot Viking Convertible featuring a 2-stateroom, single head, galley-down-dinette accommodation plan. Powered by twin inline Detroit Diesel 6-71 TI 485 HP marine diesels by Johnson & Towers, she cruises comfortably in the mid 20 knot range. Handsome and finely appointed, the 45′ Viking Convertible remains a standard bearer of Viking fit and finish. This 45 Viking was a northern boat for most of its life until spring pf 2023. She is by no means perfect but with a full detail and bottom paint she would be ready to show off.

“The Viking 45 Convertible is one of those rare cases where the product was so well matched to the market that success was virtually assured. A superb blend of modern convertible styling and cutting-edge performance, she’s constructed on a modified-V hull with a graceful sheer, moderate beam, and balsa coring in the hull sides. The 45 was available in three interior layouts during her production years, all with a serving counter separating the mid-level galley from the salon. An L-shaped sofa in the salon converts into a double bed, and honey teak woodwork is found throughout the interior. The engine room can be reached from the salon or via a second hatch by the cockpit door. As it is in all Viking products, the engine room is well lit and meticulously finished. The cockpit came with a molded tackle center, transom door, recessed fish boxes, etc., and the huge flybridge will seat a small crowd. A good performer with standard 485hp Detroit 6-71s. About 250 were built during her production run.”
