John Prather

Co-Founder and Head of Brokerage

John Prather is a Maryland native and co-founder of Delmarva Marine Group, specializing in yacht and boat sales with a deep, hands-on understanding of how boats are built, used, and valued. His lifelong involvement in boating—combined with more than 20 years of professional experience on the water—gives clients a practical advantage when buying or selling.

John has spent his career operating, evaluating, and working aboard a wide range of vessels throughout the East Coast and internationally, including the Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. This experience allows him to accurately assess boat performance, layout, construction quality, and real-world functionality—key factors in pricing, marketing, and matching buyers with the right vessel.

Beyond brokerage, John has been directly involved in the full build process of multiple boats, from 20-foot outboards to some of the largest sportfishing yachts on the market. His in-depth knowledge of boat construction, systems, and manufacturer standards—along with strong relationships within the industry—provides clients with informed guidance throughout every stage of a transaction.

An accredited yacht broker, John is known for his integrity, transparency, and detail-driven approach. He works closely with each client to ensure their boat is properly represented, strategically marketed, and sold with their best interests as the top priority.

Jon Duffie

Co-Founder
Jon Duffie, co-founder of Delmarva Marine Group brings a lifetime of hands-on boating, fishing, and vessel ownership experience to Delmarva Marine Group. Raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, Jon developed his passion for the water at an early age while fishing aboard his family boat, Billfisher. After graduating from SMU, he relocated to Ocean City, Maryland, where his professional career on the water continued to evolve.

Jon has held a U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License for over 20 years and has spent the past two decades competing in fishing tournaments and operating boats throughout the East Coast, the islands, and beyond. His extensive travel by boat—including journeys through the islands and the Panama Canal—and fishing experience across numerous countries in Central America have given him a deep, real-world understanding of vessel performance, reliability, and offshore capability.

Fishing and boating have always been at the core of Jon’s career, naturally leading him into boat building and customization. As the owner of Duffie Boatworks, he has been directly involved in the construction, refit, and sale of multiple vessels, providing him with valuable insight into hull design, systems integration, and build quality—knowledge that directly benefits clients navigating the buying or selling process.

As co-founder of Delmarva Marine Group, Jon’s combined experience on the water and in the boat-building industry played a key role in shaping the company’s hands-on, client-focused approach to brokerage.

Jamie Galli

Raised on the Chesapeake Bay and in the marine industry, Jamie Galli developed a lifelong passion for boating and performance on the water from an early age. As the owner and operator of Top Knotch Marine, he has spent the last two decades building a respected reputation for technical expertise, performance focused service, and trusted client relationships throughout the Mid Atlantic and beyond.

Jamie offers clients a level of technical insight and real world vessel knowledge that extends far beyond traditional brokerage. With extensive experience in vessel performance, custom rigging, advanced electronics integration, and marine systems, he is uniquely positioned to help buyers and sellers evaluate not just a boat’s condition, but its overall functionality, performance, cost of ownership and long term value. As a certified outboard technician and Mercury Repower Center specialist along with his experience operating a full service boatyard, he provides a strong understanding of construction, setup, performance, and maintenance standards across a wide range of vessels, giving clients added confidence throughout every stage of the transaction.

Known throughout the Chesapeake Bay region as a go to resource for performance service and marine problem solving, Jamie has worked with a wide range of vessels, custom builds, and repowers. A passionate premium boating enthusiast and owner himself, he genuinely believes in the brands and products he represents, bringing firsthand experience and perspective to every client interaction.

Jamie’s transition into brokerage is a natural extension of the relationships and reputation he has built throughout his career, as clients have long sought out and valued his advice when it comes to buying, upgrading, and optimizing their boats.
